From funk pioneers to champions of the blues, award-winning gospel groups to seventh-generation ballad singers, the artists we serve have spent their lives upholding American musical traditions. But despite their talent and lifelong contributions, they often find themselves facing financial uncertainty, especially in their later years.

When we learned that SNAP benefits would be affected by the federal shutdown, we knew our partner artists would need a helping hand. 81% of our artists have experienced food insecurity in the last year, and nearly one-third qualify for SNAP (food stamps). For seniors already struggling to survive on fixed incomes, losing this extra assistance could mean the difference between staying healthy and skipping meals.

Thankfully, generous music lovers like you were there to help.

Because of your support, we were able to issue emergency grants to every Music Maker artist who receives SNAP, covering the full amount of their missed benefits. Thanks to you, these senior tradition-bearers will have food on the table heading into the holiday season.
