SLIDESHOW: KeAmber Daniels & Scott Pearce at Music Maker Studios
If we’ve learned one thing over the last 32 years at Music Maker Foundation, it’s this: The well of great American music will never run dry. When we take the time to put down deep roots in a new place, to truly get to know our neighbors and help them however we can, we inevitably find ourselves immersed in a whole community of incredible musicians whose voices need to be heard by the world.
One of the biggest joys of our work in Fountain, NC has been meeting local artists who have devoted themselves to keeping the region’s musical traditions alive. This month, we invited two of them to record solo albums at Music Maker Studios: KeAmber Daniels and Scott Pearce.
Gospel and soul singer KeAmber Daniels is no stranger to Music Maker Foundation. As a member of powerhouse vocal trio The Crimestoppers and gospel group Faith & Harmony, she has lent her talents to countless Music Maker projects, including singing backup vocals for nearly every album recorded at our studio in Fountain. After we released The Crimestoppers’ debut album last year, we were so impressed with KeAmber’s dynamic voice and riveting stage presence that we knew she could carry an album as a solo artist – and she proved us right!
Then, we welcomed a newer face to Music Maker Studios: local singer-songwriter Scott Pearce. A resident of Winterville, less than 30 minutes from Fountain, Scott has been a deeply spiritual presence on the eastern NC folk scene for decades. While Scott has been a guest at previous sessions, this month marked the first time he stepped in front of the mic for a Music Maker recording. We are so excited to share his music with you.
Special thanks to Bruce Watson of Bible & Tire, Will Sexton, John Kilgore, John Kveen, Kirk Russell, Anthony “Amp” Daniels, Antwan Daniels, Christy Moody, and our amazing donors for making these transformational recording sessions possible. We are especially grateful to the Robert & Mercedes Eichholz Foundation and the Peat Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation for their generous support of this work.
Look for Scott and KeAmber’s albums in 2027 or 2028. In the meantime, take a peek behind the scenes in these photos from this month’s sessions, taken by Tim Duffy!
Come hear KeAmber and Scott (and see Music Maker Studios!) in-person at Fountain Fest, Saturday, October 17 from 2-6 PM. Tickets available now!
